8:00 AM - 9:00 AMKeynote Presentation: Overcoming Adversity through Leadership - Lessons for Business and for Life

Matthew Eversmann’s heroic actions were immortalized in the epic film Black Hawk Down, which tells the amazing account of an elite group of U.S. Special Forces soldiers sent into Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993 as part of a U.N. peacekeeping operation. Matt will share his inspirational story of survival in the face of incredible adversity and overwhelming odds, as well as how leadership lessons learned during some of the most rigorous military training in the world— and under fire in combat—are applicable in today’s business world. He focuses on three attributes that brought him home alive: leadership, courage, and selfless service.

In this compelling session, participants will learn:

  • The definition of leadership and the keys to effectively command a team even under difficult circumstances
  • The three core values that leaders and teams must have to succeed—especially when facing “strategic shock”
